         It was being held in Manila, Philippines, from 24 November to 5 December 1991 in 29 sports, namely archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, billiards-snooker, bodybuilding, bowling, boxing, cycling, fencing, golf, football, squash, gymnastics, judo, karate do, sepaktakraw, softball, swimming – diving and water polo, shooting, table tennis, tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, sailing, rowing, weightlifting, wushu and windsurfing. Most gold medals were awarded to Indonesia with 92 gold, 87 silver and 69 bronze; to be followed by Philippines and Thailand. Participated 9 member countries were Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia, Lao PDR., Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
