Thailand was acting as the host country for the 4th SEAP Games on behalf of Cambodia. It was being held from 9 to 16 December 1967 in 16 sports; namely athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, cycling, football, judo, rugby, sailing, sepaktakraw, shooting, table tennis, tennis, swimming, volleyball and weightlifting with a total 984 athletes. Most gold medals were awarded to Thailand with 77 gold, 48 silver and 40 bronze; to be followed by Singapore and Malaysia respectively.
Most honorable and memorable in this Games was His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Royal Highness PrincessChulabhorn Walailak competed in sailing dinghy and enabled to win a gold medal as well.
